Luton were knocked out of the FA Cup after a 3-1 defeat at Premier League Chelsea in the fourth round yesterday. Town were 2-0 down inside 20 minutes, Tammy Abraham scoring, but then hit back through Jordan Clark to make a game of it, until Abraham completed his hat-trick late on. To find out how the Hatters players rated on the day, see below.
5. Sonny Bradley: 6
Got drawn to the ball as Chelsea moved in front, Abraham left in acres of space to find the bottom corner. Was no doubt preparing for the worst when the second quickly followed, but kept Town’s heads up as they made a real game of it.
6. Glen Rea: 5.5
Started as part of a five man defence but the formation didn’t work out as Luton found themselves 2-0 down inside 20 minutes. Able to help break up play now and again afterwards, only to be replaced at half time by Potts.
7. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 6.5
Opportunity to prove he could be playing the Blues regularly next term as a Leicester player. Misplaced a few passes due to over-eagerness to find the killer ball, but looked more composed in the surroundings after the break.
8. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 7
Took his chance to impress on the big stage with a promising display in midfield. Always showed for the ball with his dinked pass leading to Bree setting up Clark, while should have had an assist of his own only for Cornick to be denied.
