Andros Townsend’s first half goal was enough for Rob Edwards’ side to triumph and to find out how the Hatters players rated on the day, see below.

Came on at such a crucial stage, taking his place in the back-line with 15 minutes to go as Bell went down with cramp. First top flight outing in well over two months following his hamstring injury, but was alert to the danger immediately, positioned well to clear his lines well and make an important block. Well-timed sliding intervention prevented Wilson from doing any damage, winning a goal kick for good measure too. Photo: Liam Smith
14. Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (SUB): 7.5
On for the closing stages as Lokonga had done a terrific job and he slotted in well to the midfield berth. Might have taken a pop at goal when the space opened up, preferring to find Barkley instead, but he made sure there was no equaliser for the Magpies by cutting down the space in which they had to work with, also running the clock down in stoppage time. 15. Chiedozie Ogbene (SUB): 8
Only had 10 minutes plus stoppage time, but showed in that period just what a danger he can be. Visiting defender Lewis Hall won't have come up against much quicker than the rapid Irishman as he had to take a yellow when hauling the Town attacker back when on one lightning burst. After that the sub just ran at him whenever possible, turning into a cheerleader for the fans too. Photo: Liam Smith
16. Carlton Morris (SUB): 7
With Luton starting to try and protect what they had, the chances for him to get on the ball were limited, as his main job was to occupy the United defenders. Got involved to throw them out of their stride as Town stayed strong to record a second win at Kenilworth Road. Photo: Liam Smith
