Town's players celebrate their 3-1 win over Norwich City last night
. James Shea: 7.5
Rash lunge brought down Placheta for the penalty, while one sprint out of his area in the second period did little for the nerves. On the whole though, it was a solid return to the side, with handling and distribution impressing.
. Martin Cranie: 7.5
Restored to the right back slot after spending the last two games on the bench and was having a solid evening’s work until just before half time when he pulled a muscle sliding into win the ball back in the box and had to be replaced.
. Rhys Norrington-Davies: 8
Not a game where he could burst up and the left flank due to the possession that Norwich enjoyed, but held his position well and attacked when possible. Another who recovered well Saturday's disappointment.
. Tom Lockyer: 8.5
Welsh international was given only his fourth league start of the season and recovered from an early slip that led to City’s penalty to give an excellent display, one clearing header from almost on his own line the pick of the bunch.
. Matty Pearson: 8.5
Would have been hurting after Saturday’s capitulation at Cardiff and responded in the best way possible, turning in a proper centre half's performance. Also notched his second goal in successive home games with a thumping header.
1. James Shea (STAR MAN): 9
Keeper took his chance with Sluga away on international duty making a string of excellent saves in both halves to make sure Town were in a position for their late flurry. Handling and distribution was spot on too.
2. Martin Cranie: 8.5
Fine display at right back as he was always in the right place to clear the danger. Got forward well with some good deliveries into the box, a lovely through ball for Collins and went as close as anyone in the first half with a header.
3. Rhys Norrington-Davies: 8.5
Excellent debut for the Hatters as within the opening 60 seconds, he had shown his intentions, overlapping on the left to send over a dangerous cross. More of the same and he will be a fine asset this term.
4. Matty Pearson: 8
Bravely threw his body in the way of a number of City shots and made some excellent interventions when the game became that bit more stretched in the latter stages as Norwich committed more men forward.
