Elijah Adebayo scored a magnificent hat-trick as Luton romped to their biggest win of the season by far with a stunning 4-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.
The Hatters forward was joined on the scoresheet by Chiedozie Ogbene as the Seagulls were simply blown away and to find out how the Town players rated on the evening, see below.
5. Amari’i Bell: 9
The manner in which drops his shoulder and advances smoothly up the pitch is now beginning to grace the Premier League on a weekly basis as once more he looked to dribble his way through the Brighton press when he could, and was often successful in doing so. Looked after the ball well, his 80 percent pass success rate showcasing that point. Kept his opponents quiet in what turned out to be a night to remember at Kenilworth Road. Photo: Liam Smith
6. Alfie Doughty: 8.5
With Luton winning a number of corners in the first half, he sent plenty of searching deliveries into the area but the Seagulls defenders were just about able to deal with. They didn't have quite the same luck after the break, Pedro flicking on another Doughty set-piece for Adebayo to put the result beyond doubt. A real livewire, once Milner went off, he had the better of Hinshelwood for the rest of the game, easily winning his personal battle. Photo: Liam Smith
7. Sambi Lokonga: 8.5
A quite terrific raking pass over the top was weighted perfectly for Ogbene to leave his marker for dead and beat the onrushing Steele to walk the ball into the net, making it 2-0 with just two minutes gone. With a second assist under his belt, the Belgian got stuck into the Albion midfielders as they were never allowed the time in possession they thrive on. Saw a yellow card after catching Buonanotte following one such challenge and with the points in the bag, made way to ensure he is ready to go against Newcastle. Photo: Liam Smith
8. Ross Barkley: 9
Played a full role in the terrific victory as he was always an option for his team-mates, often spinning away from danger to set off on a thrilling foray forward. Played a number of key passes as well, finding Clark whose shot was saved and then winning the ball back high up to send Adebayo away who did make it 3-0. Kept on trying to find that killer ball in the second half as Town didn't sit on their lead, Morris denied by the keeper after another defence-splitting pass. Photo: Liam Smith
