Luton fell to a 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough on Wednesday night, the fifth successive game without a win on the road. Home striker Chuba Akpom netted the only goal on 52 minutes, but despite the hosts going down to 10 men just after the hour mark, James Collins' penalty was disallowed for kicking the ball twice, as Town couldn't manage a leveller. To find out how the visitors rated on the evening, see below.
5. Sonny Bradley: 6
Looked odds on for a third clean sheet at half time, but couldn’t halt Tavernier’s run forward after the break which meant Akpom was left unmarked to break the deadlock. Inches away from a goal but Town’s drought on the road continues.
6. Glen Rea (STAR MAN): 6.5
In what become a midfield battle, he was always eager to put his foot in. Lovely piece of skill and shot was fumbled by Bettinelli for Town’s unsuccessful penalty. Second half booking will see him banned for Saturday now though.
7. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 5.5
Definitely far less effective away from Kenilworth Road at the moment as he struggled to really get into the contest. Sent over some dangerous inswinging corners but Boro got around him to temper his influence.
8. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 5.5
Not really a game where he could exert his influence and driving runs on to proceedings such was the lack of space available to him. Came into it more when Boro were down to 10 men, but the hosts managed his thrusts well.
