Town looked to have secured a point thanks to James Collins' first half penalty, only for Stockley to hit the net in the closing stages to make it seven straight away defeats for Graeme Jones' side. See below to read how the Hatters rated for their efforts at Deepdale.
5. Sonny Bradley: 7.5
Looked to have helped Hatters to a first away draw of the season as he kept Prestons front players quiet, only for Stockley to win it. Huge shouts for a penalty in the first half waved away by the referee.
6. Jacob Butterfield: 7
Back in the starting line-up once more and was part of an effective shield for the visitors in their newlook formation. Picked up a slight knock though which unfortunately forced him off after an hour.
7. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 7
Disciplined effort from the midfielder who made it difficult for the Lilywhites to ever pass their way through the Hatters. Picked up the rebound after Cornick's miss to see his effort tipped over.
8. Luke Berry: 7
Took up some good positions in the box as put one attempt wide and had another cannon into an Preston defender. Got through plenty of running to keep Town's opponents from creating a great deal before replaced by Moncur.
