Hatters rated v Barnet

Mark Tyler: 6.5 - Would have been more than happy to have such a quiet afternoon after being overworked at Kenilworth Road during recent games. Only had one shot on target to deal with and that was easy enough.

Alex Lawless: 8 - In at right back with Long on his way back from Lithuania and added another dimension for the hosts, particularly going forward. Signs of a good partnership with Green developing already too.

Scott Griffiths: 7.5 - Defender had a tough opponent in Josh Clarke who was the visitors’ stand-out performer on the day. Always kept on his toes although still managed to join in with Hatters’ attacks too.

Scott Cuthbert: 7 - Given a good test by Akinde throughout with a few nervy moments but a second clean sheet in two can only help further boost the side’s collective defensive confidence.

Luke Wilkinson: 7.5 - Getting back to his more dominant best now as he handled the Bees attacking forward duo well. Brought out a few of his now trademark bursts forward as well.

Danny Green: 7.5 - Recalled winger was back and doing what he did best, putting in some dangerous crosses from the right. Brilliant finish for the opener and if can keep at it, will be a hugely influential component of Town’s first XI.

Jonathan Smith: 8 - Midfielder was desperate to score as he ended up having a go from here, there and everywhere. Might have done better with a left foot volley, but another instinctive effort near the end was desperately close.

Olly Lee: 7.5 - Composed performance in the centre of midfield from Lee who got his foot on the ball and was always looking to move it quickly. Great vision and weight of pass to set McQuoid free for killer second goal.

Cameron McGeehan: 7.5 - Didn’t see a great deal of the ball on the flank at times, but came off his wing to positive effect, unleashing a number of efforts from range and eventually bagging goal number eight.

Josh McQuoid: 9 - Brilliant display from the striker, who is clearly relishing his chance in a central role. Direct running led to two assists and thoroughly deserved his ovation at the end.

Paul Benson: 8 - Striker showed just what Hatters have missed at times this term with some clever and intelligent hold-up play which more than often, brought his team-mates into the game.

Jack Marriott (SUB): 6.5 - Striker busied himself after replacing Benson and didn’t allow the Bees defenders any respite.

Mark O’Brien (SUB): 6.5 - On for the latter stages as Green had run out of legs and helped solidify the midfield.

Paddy McCourt (SUB): 6 - Don’t think he touched the ball, but dedication in making himself available after playing for Northern Ireland was commendable.
