Hatters rated v Burton Albion

Mark Tyler: 6.5 - Apart from the goal, had almost nothing to do on his 250th appearance for the club.

Michael Harriman: 6.5 - Returned to full back as Hatters switched to a 4-4-2 and although solid enough, didn’t quite have the impact he has done in recent weeks.

Scott Griffiths: 6 - Recalled to the side but occasionally was caught out of position after trying to help out at the other end.

Luke Wilkinson: 6.5 - Had repelled almost everything that came his way, but needless challenge earned a red card and he will now miss this weekend.

Steve McNulty: 7 - Dominating performance again from the skipper, though one day his backpasses will catch him out!

Shaun Whalley (STAR MAN): 7.5 - Much much better from the winger who gave glimpses of the obvious talent he has. Plenty of tricky runs and some decent crosses too.

Nathan Doyle: 7 - Effective screen for the Hatters once more and it worked perfectly in the first period as Luton kept their hosts at bay. Sacrificed after the break once more.

Jonathan Smith: 7.5 - Some assured passing from the midfielder who led the charge for Town, particularly in the second half and came the closest to a leveller.

Jake Howells: 6 - Wide left this time and didn’t really feature enough in the first half as his final ball was more often than not cut out.

Luke Guttridge: 7 - Cracking early attempt was tipped over and he buzzed around, always looking to create an opening.

Paul Benson: 5.5 - Struggled on his own against Burton’s sturdy centre halves. Hold up play wasn’t to its usual standard either.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (SUB): 6 - Thrown on in the second half to try and find a way back for Luton but couldn’t quite manage it.

Ricky Miller (SUB): 6.5 - Almost grabbed an equaliser only to snatch at his attempt and it flew wide.

Andy Drury (SUB): 6 - Late introduction as Town boss John Still went all out to attack.
