Hatters rated v Exeter

Mark Tyler: 8 - Once again, came up with two excellent stops at crucial times as looked odds on for another clean sheet until the late penalty.

Michael Harriman: 7 - Plenty of interventions and ventured forward when the chance allowed too. Hopefully news of a loan extension soon.

Scott Griffiths: 6.5 - Rare goal for the defender but then was caught lacking in the second period and dived in unnecessarily to concede a penalty when he should have known better.

Steve McNulty: 8.5 - Another superlative display from Town’s skipper who is at his very best right now. Dominant in the air and leads the back line brilliantly.

Luke Wilkinson: 7.5 - Was solid and compact alongside McNulty as they carried out the manager’s plans of defending the box to a tee.

Nathan Doyle: 8 - Highly effective display once more from Hatters’ defensive screen. Allowed likes of Smith and Drury to break away and set up a number of Luton’s attacks.

Jonathan Smith: 7.5 - Far more advanced with Ruddock Mpanzu missing out and covered every blade of grass at times. Almost snatched a late winner as his shot was saved.

Andy Drury: 7.5 - Carried the ball particularly well at times. Set up Griffiths’ goal and another lovely cross saw Benson come close.

Jake Howells: 7 - Might have done better with a break in the first half but opted to go alone, but his left foot gave Hatters some real balance.

Paul Benson: 6.5 - Great chance to make it 2-0 in the first half slipped agonisingly wide of the post. Getting fitter with every game, but will be desperate for that goal now.

Mark Cullen: 6.5 - Struggled to get into the game during the first period as he was played much wider. Became far more of a threat when moved to his preferred central role after the break.

Luke Guttridge (SUB): 6.5 - Not quite the impact that he had last week, but was busy in the final third.

Alex Lacey (SUB): 6.5 - Stepped into an unfamiliar left back role and carried out his duties effectively.

Ricky Miller (SUB): 6.5 - Good cameo from the forward and might well have been on target with virtually his first touch.
