Hatters rated v Gillingham

Alex Lawless: 6 - Started at right back but looked more comfortable when pushed forward into a midfield role after the break.

Dan Potts: 5.5 - Struggled at times up against the tricky McGlashan and didn’t have the most composed of times defensively. Set up McGeehan’s header but missed a great chance at the end to force penalties.

Magnus Okuonghae: 6.5 - Commanding first half from the centre back who was making his first competitive start since November 2014. Won’t be overly happy with the equaliser though as it should have been cleared.

Mark O’Brien (STAR MAN): 7 - Given a chance in his preferred centre back role and showed why it’s his favourite position. Covered round well and took up some good positions too.

Olly Lee: 6.5 - Midfielder was once again composed when in possession and could have had an instant second for Luton after McGeehan’s opener only to be denied by Nelson.

Nathan Doyle: 6.5 - Valuable 90 minutes for Doyle who is now pushing for a place in the first team once more. Kept things simple and always unafraid to get stuck in as well.

Josh McQuoid: 6.5 - Came into the game during the second period as the match became stretched. Nearly opened his account only to find Nelson’s reflexes in good working order.

Luke Guttridge: 6 - Midfielder was busy in possession when Luton had the ball and it was from his pass that Hatters managed to grab the opener.

Cameron McGeehan: 6 - Yet another goal from the midfielder who is now up to five for season. Becoming an expert at timing his runs into the box.

Jack Marriott: 6 - Was starved of service for large parts of the game, although became more of a threat late on with Hatters trying to get their names in the hat for the third round.

Ryan Hall (SUB): 6 - Played slightly deeper to begin with but showed some nice touches in and around the penalty area, one in particular for Potts’ late chance.

Danny Green (SUB): 6 - Bar one magnificent through ball for Marriott, the sub didn’t have the sort of impact he might have hoped.

Scott Griffiths (SUB): 7 - Thrown in an unaccustomed right back role but made some telling clearances particularly when facing his own goal. Beaten on the overlap for the winner though.
