Hatters rated v Grimsby

Dean Brill: 6 – Might have been unsighted by the first goal and slightly hesitant off his line but made two fine stops.

Lathaniel Rowe-Turner: 5.5 – Too many times the Hatters backline lost their headers on a disappointing evening.

Janos Kovacs: 5 – Not the Hungarian’s best evening as he was tormented all night, while his distribution was at best ropey.

Alex Lawless: 6 – Passing was unusually astray as Luton failed to cope with the difficult conditions.

Scott Rendell: 5.5 – Saturday’s hero missed a great chance to stake his claim as he was off the pace at times.

Jake Howells: 6 – Tried to get forward with some good runs on the left, but like the rest of his side, never looked at his best.

Stuart Fleetwood: 6 – Looked Town’s most likely threat with some mazy runs but match sharpness in front of goal is missing.

Arnaud Mendy: 5.5 - Put in a shift and tried to get some attacks going before being withdrawn with 20 minutes to go.

JJ O’Donnell: 5 – Barely noticeable all evening as Grimsby’s more physical presence blunted his forays into Grimsby’s half.

Jonathan Smith: 6 – Battled as he does and won some important challenges. Picked up another booking late on though.

Ronnie Henry: 5.5 – Gave away free kick that led to Mariners second and couldn’t rally his troops on the night.

Jon Shaw: 5 – Thrown on late on, but conceding almost immediately left him with little chance.

Simon Ainge: 5 – Deflection gave Brill little chance with the third.

Adam Watkins: 5 – On for a few minutes and by that time the game was well and truly gone.
