Hatters rated v Hartlepool

Mark Tyler (STAR MAN): 9.5 - Not often a keeper is the stand out performer in a 4-1 win, but this was a stunning display from Tyler. Striker Rakish Bingham will still be having nightmares as to how he didn’t beat him.

Scott Cuthbert: 7.5 - His inclusion gives Luton a far more solid feel at the back and produced some decent deliveries whenever the chance arose to stretch his legs too.

Scott Griffiths: 7 - Full back was caught out slightly for Paynter’s goal as he was on the wrong side of the striker. Kept things simple after that though.

Steve McNulty: 7 - Skipper won’t have been too impressed with the ease at which Pools opened up Town’s defence at times. Found Bingham a tough proposition.

Luke Wilkinson: 7 - Looked secure aerially for the majority, but as with McNulty, owes Tyler a great debt of gratitude for the victory with Luton breached on a number of occasions.

Jonathan Smith: 7.5 - Popped up with yet another goal as he’s becoming a real threat in the opposition area this season. Four already after bagging just five in his previous 100 games.

Olly Lee: 8 - Midfielder had a growing influence on the game and his assuredness in possession put Luton on the front foot throughout. Brilliant strike to open his account at the end.

Josh McQuoid: 7 - Played his part in Marriott’s second goal with a neat ball in to Guttridge. Still searching for that elusive first strike of his own though.

Luke Guttridge: 7.5 - Back in once more after McCourt wasn’t risked and knitted the attacking play together once more. Had a hand in three of the four goals and proved just how valuable a player he is.

Cameron McGeehan: 7.5 - Did his bit on the right hand side of Town’s attacking quartet and good vision to find Guttridge for Luton’s first. Couldn’t find the space to add to his tally this time though.

Craig Mackail-Smith: 7 - Forward looked dangerous during his spell on the pitch, linking well with Hatters’ attackers. Forced off by injury which hopefully won’t be too serious.

Jack Marriott (SUB): 8.5 - Had an hour to show his talent this time with Mackail-Smith going off and did just that. Lethal finishing by the forward who clinically gobbles up his chance.

Nathan Doyle (SUB): 6.5 - On for the closing stages once more to try and shore up Luton’s midfield.
