Hatters rated v Hartlepool United

Elliot Justham: 7.5 - Quieter afternoon than in recent weeks but made one excellent stop from Harriman’s deflection.

Michael Harriman: 7.5 - Linked up well with Whalley on the right hand side although happy to see his keeper block a miscued clearance.

Scott Griffiths: 7.5 - Defender put his body on the line once more and also showed his threat from corners, showing great determination to bag a second of the campaign.

Steve McNulty: 7.5 - Lost out early on against Marlon Harewood but from that moment on regained the ascendancy on a dominant afternoon.

Luke Wilkinson: 7.5 - Didn’t looked too troubled throughout against a poor Hartlepool front-line as Hatters eased to another clean sheet.

Shaun Whalley: 7.5 - Was brought in to terrorise the Pools defence and did just that with a number of mazy runs. Brought down for the penalty as well.

Cameron McGeehan - 7.5 - Relishing the extra freedom he’s been afforded now and becoming a genuine goalscoring midfielder with his third since returning.

Jonathan Smith: 7.5 - Another typically whole-hearted display from Smith who dragged Luton’s midfield forward in the second period when Hartlepool were on top.

Jake Howells (STAR MAN): 8 - Justified his return with a brilliant birthday. Set up two, scored from the spot as well and was also looking to create on the left flank.

Elliot Lee: 7.5 - Very lively alongside Cullen as the pair linked up well. Denied by a superb save and for once chose the wrong option when breaking clear second half.

Mark Cullen: 7 - Striker had chances to add to his tally this year but couldn’t beat Flinders when one on one. Needs to watch the offside trap though.

Ryan Hall: (SUB) 6 - Winger tried to get into the game during his short stay but blasted one late effort horribly over.

Luke Guttridge: (SUB) 6 - Allowed Howells to get treatment for what looked like cramp.

Ricky Miller (SUB) 5.5 - Very late cameo from the striker as the game was up by then.
