Hatters rated v Morecambe

Mark Tyler: 6 - Might have felt he could have done better with Morecambe’s second but made some decent saves after the break that helped keep the score down.

Fraser Franks (STAR MAN): 6.5 - Town’s most prominent defender on the afternoon as he was the one most noticably repelling Morecambe’s bombardment.

Steve McNulty: 5 - No complaints with first booking, but should have kept his head afterwards and not given the official any reason to send him off.

Luke Wilkinson: 5 - Surprisingly poor in possession throughout the game. Outjumped for the crucial second goal too.

Michael Harriman: 5 - Never had the chance to really impose himself as he had his hands full trying to stop Morecambe adding to their tally.

Jonathan Smith: 6 - Dogged as ever as he tried to get Town going, although his passing was often awry at times

Nathan Doyle: 6.5 - One of the few who came out with some credit as once again he made a number of important interceptions but was always fighting a losing battle.

Andy Drury: 5 - Ineffective display from the midfielder who had been named captain after McNulty’s dismissal only to be hauled off at half time as Luton altered formation.

Jake Howells: 5 - Found containing the lively Devitt tricky and didn’t really manage to impose himself as an attacking threat at any stage.

Shaun Whalley: 5.5 - Looked out of place in a more central position during the first half and was more at home on the wing after the break. Nothing he tried came off this time though.

Mark Cullen: 5.5 - Left feeding off scraps for the majority of the game but came closest with a good effort that needed saving early in the second period.

Alex Lacey (SUB): 6 - Came on with the game pretty much over and in an unfamiliar left back role but stuck to his task well and one of the few bright spots.

Ross Lafayette (SUB): 5.5 - Gave Luton an aerial threat they had been desperately missing during his brief cameo.

Ricky Miller (SUB): 6 - Looked hungry to make an impact and might have had a consolation with two late efforts.
