Luton celebrate Danny Hylton's opening goal on Saturday
Goals from Danny Hylton and James Collins ensured the Hatters triumphed, and here's how the players rated on the day.
Celebrated his 50th appearance for the club with a relative ease as bar the odd effort from distance, very little came his way. 20 clean sheets for the season now.
Instrumental in Luton taking the lead as his clever skill and cross eventually led to Hylton finding the bet. Always a huge threat but could have settled nerves earlier when racing clear from half way.
Couldnt get forward quite as much as he has done in recent home games, particularly in the first half as Dale stood firm. Moved into midfield late on and caught the eye.
Defender was often first to the ball forward when it came, clearing his lines with gusto. Kept things moving on the floor well too as Luton played out from the back at times.
Town's defence always looked in control against a tricky Dale attack who carried a threat throughout. Centre half marshalled the back-line well, ensuring the visitors never fully tested Shea.
Once more he relished the challenge and made sure Luton won the midfield battle, as they usually do. Cracking volley in the first half didnt miss by much either.
Fine cross for Hylton as he made an excellent start to proceedings. Slightly lucky to escape with a yellow, while denied by Lonergan in the second half. Surprise to see him come off for the first time this season too.
Easily in the form of his Luton career as his ability and vision on the ball is up there with the best in the league. Lovely pass for Stacey's chance and dominating matches now.
First start since mid-January and his threat increased as the game progressed. Fine pass for Mpanzus chance, while drove forward to test Lonergan from range. Header hit the bar for Hylton to follow up as well.
Will surely win an Irish call-up on that display in front of watching boss Mick McCarthy. Hold up play was excellent, tested Lonergan and emphatic finish for goal number 20.
Huge weight off his shoulders to score for the first time since October, in the right position after Lee's header hit the bar. Almost set up Collins as well, the pair's partnership working well upfront.
Added height at the back and allowed Justin to move into midfield.
Real box of tricks in the final moments and his wonderful skill and cross was on a plate for Collins.
Had the closing stages to give Hylton a rest and almost broke through.
