Alex Lawless: 7 – Town’s metronomic midfielder again helped to keep things ticking with another energetic display.
Scott Rendell: 7.5 – Led the line well, took his goals well and maybe could have and should have had more.

Simon Ainge: 6.5 – No nonsense debut and won his fair share of headers and tackles.
Stuart Fleetwood: 7 (pictured) – Brilliant strike to give Town the lead and became increasingly effective as the game broke up.
JJ O’Donnell: 7 – Subdued first half showing, but put in a classy all-action second half performance as Luton threatened to run riot.

Hide AdYaser Kasim: 6.5 – Good on the ball and looked to get more involved in the game as Town’s three-man midfield displayed more bite than in recent games.
Connor Essam: 6.5 – No thrills defender kept it simple and was largely untroubled by what the Sandgrounders had to offer.
Ronnie Henry: 6.5 – After being substituted in the last two games, Town’s captain looked far more resilient and combative.
Andre Gray: 7 – Electric pace and non-stop running helped to punch the holes in Southport’s defence that led to victory.
