Hatters rated v Yeovil Town

Mark Tyler: 5.5 - Left exposed for all three goals and was fortunate one reckless charge from his area didn’t result in a further strike.

Scott Cuthbert: 5.5 - Defender looked comfortable enough at right back in a flat back four as the danger didn’t emanate from his flank.

Steve McNulty: 4.5 - Very poor from the skipper as after being needlessly booked he then looked determined to pick up a second caution, giving manager John Still no option but to sub him at the break.

Luke Wilkinson: 5.5 - Great assist for Benson’s 18th minute strike, but was afforded little protection from the midfield and couldn’t blunt the wave of Glovers attacks in the second period. Might have been slow to react for the winner though.

Scott Griffiths: 4.5 - Full back looks way off the pace at the moment as he struggled throughout, particularly in possession. Was at fault for the second goal too, getting sucked out of position far too easily.

Danny Green: 5 - Good to see him back in the team, but didn’t make the impression he would have wanted as too often Luton failed to get the ball out wide to him.

Cameron McGeehan: 5 - Dominated possession in the opening 20 minutes, before like the rest of the side, found himself over-run by the resurgent home side.

Jonathan Smith (STAR MAN): 6 - Midfielder was recalled to the starting line-up and was full of energy as ever, snapping into his tackles and at least trying to get Hatters going.

Ryan Hall: 4.5 - Didn’t make the most of his first start at all. Contributed very little from the either wing, while he was slow to try and cut out the cross for Yeovil’s first. Made way after the break.

Craig Mackail-Smith: 6 - Stunning strike to open his Town account looked to have set Luton on their way, only to be once again left feeding off scraps.

Paul Benson: 6 - Easiest of tap-ins for his goal and might have had another in the second period, denied by a fine Krysiak save.

Mark O’Brien (SUB): 5.5 - Came on at half time as the weather and Luton’s performance took a dramatic turn for the worse. Coped as well as possible.

Paddy McCourt (SUB): 4.5 - Late cameo from the winger but Town were barely an attacking force in the second period.

Alex Lawless (SUB): 4.5 - First action of the season for the midfielder but he couldn’t do anything to halt Luton’s slide towards a second successive defeat.
