Former Saints player and assistant boss Brabin said: “We are bringing the younger players as well and the injured players – a squad of about 28.
“We think that’s why it’s good to take a big squad with us.
“I don’t want to throw the lads into 90 minutes and risk getting them injured.”

“He was a little bit behind during his own programme and didn’t think he should play.”
