The 25-year-old had been in excellent form for the Whites, scoring five goals in 10 matches since joining last month.

But with Ross Lafayette out due to a hernia operation and Paul Benson not quite match fit, boss John Still took the option to bring back Miller, who won the Conference North player of the year award for Boston United last season.

Speaking at this afternoon’s press conference, he said: “Ricky Miller will be coming back today so we’ll add him to it. He’s been away for six weeks and done really, really well.

“He’s looked really sharp in training and we just think with Ross having his operation and Paul not being 100 per cent, we just wanted to get him back here.

“I didn’t want to stop him playing and I want to help the people at Dover as well, but we have to help ourselves first and the right thing to do is bring him back.

“You can’t have too many forwards, it’s good to have the options that we’ve got. Alex Wall has come on and got the winner in a game, Charlie Walker has come on and contributed.

“We’re fortunate to have the choices we’ve have. That’s because we’ve brought some young ones in like Ricky and Charlie, who have worked really hard and we’ve just given them the chance and they’ve both responded for that.”

Lafayette has been out of action since the 2-0 win over Oxford United and will now miss the next four to six weeks as Still continued: “He’s had his hernia done. He’s in today and he’ll be however long that takes, four weeks maybe.”
