Hatters set to celebrate their 125th birthday in special pink and blue kit

INFLUENTIAL winger Andy Drury should be fit to face Bath City on Saturday.

The Conference strugglers are the visitors to Kenilworth Road at the weekend when the Hatters will be celebrating their 125th anniversary.

Manager Richard Money is adamant his side won’t get carried away by the occasion and revealed he should be able to call on the talented 26-year-old winger. Speaking on Tuesday he said: “Drury has trained today, but Adam Newton won’t be available.”

Newton has been to see a specialist about his Achilles problems and is currently being rested after having injections to help cure the issue.

Money said: “He will be back in on Thursday. He went to see the specialist again yesterday. Hopefully it will settle down and he will be able to progress.”

The only other real doubt for the Hatters is versatile defender Shane Blackett.

Money said: “Shane Blackett has got a bit of a groin strain and might miss the weekend, but we will see where he is towards the end of the week.”

Attacker Amari Morgan-Smith is also fully focused on the encounter having hit a hat-trick in the 4-0 FA Cup defeat of St Albans on Saturday. He said: “We’ve got a little bit of a break and we can focus on that next game.

“Hopefully we can take it to them and carry on as we have in recent weeks.”

Town will be wearing their pink and blue retro kit to help celebrate their birthday, with Morgan-Smith adding: “Barnesy’s gone on about it and said he likes the pink shirt.

“I will have to see how it looks on me.”
