Luton forward James Collins could be in line to face England at Wembley Stadium next week after being recalled to the Ireland squad by manager Stephen Kenny.

The 29-year-old has won four caps so far, scoring once, but hadn't been included in recent squads by Kenny, with his last outing against Switzerland just over a year ago.

However, after bagging the winner against Rotherham United last night, his fifth of the season, and with Sheffield United attacker David McGoldrick announcing his international retirement. then Collins has got the nod, alongside former Town loan signing Aaron Connolly.

Ireland will visit England for a friendly next Thursday as they then travel to Wales for a Nations League clash on Sunday, potentially pitting Collins against his club team-mates Tom Lockyer, Rhys Norrington-Davies and Joe Morrell.

The Republic will then host Bulgaria at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, November 18.
