Luton fans would be happy to see Chelsea midfielder Izzy Brown make a return to Kenilworth Road next season.

The 23-year-old joined from Stamford Bridge back in August and made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring once, but led the way for the club in assists, with seven to his name.

A Luton News Twitter poll asking whether Town supporters would want to see Brown, who was hit with injuries at times, make a return next term saw almost 1,500 have their say, with 67.6% voting in favour of the midfielder being back in a Hatters shirt.

Commenting on the poll, @davidhird88 said: "I'd love to have him back. He gets criticised by some fans for not running around enough, but you get that with Tunnicliffe and he's not exactly the most popular with the fans.

"Of course he needs to stay as injury free as possible but its going to be a long season anyway."

@SelkirkIan stated: "I’d have him back. Agree defensively he weakens us, however when attacking he sees things others don’t. If he was perfect in both areas he’d be in the Chelsea starting 11," while @MrJamesEst1970 said: "Only if a permanent signing, loans are great but only if you need them, better off finding a nugget lower level and bringing him on, like so many of the current team."

@robmoss1989 said: "I think jones will get the best out of him," with @ChrisBovril adding: "yes - but his wages will be a concern and not sure i'd want that if he's going to be injured half the season. We'd also need a much more robust midfield behind him for it to really work."

However, @sawtryhatter said: "So overrated. Out the team and the results came through," with @petehatter tweeting: "Think there is a player there but he is not an NJ type player. Too inconsistent and injury prone," and @pspsps122 adding: "No, he's too selfish. A big reason why we started playing better was because he wasn't on the pitch. Too many times he's lost his head on the pitch."

Brown was one of three loan players at the club, including Cameron Carter-Vickers and James Bree, who boss Nathan Jones hinted he would be trying to bring back, the manager saying recently: "I’d like to thank all of the loan players for their commitment to the club at such a crucial time.

"Hopefully it won’t be the last we see of them.”
