Luton Town have appealed against the red card shown to Matt Robinson in Saturday’s game at Shrewsbury Town.
The midfielder is set to miss three games after receiving a straight red for a lunging challenge late on, but television footage shows the decision to be a harsh one.
The outcome will be made by Tuesday afternoon and on the dismissal, defender Alex Lacey said: “I didn’t think it was a red.
“I was right in front of it and I think Matt’s just gone for the ball. I don’t think he’s gone in maliciously or anything like that, he’s gone in for the ball, maybe with one foot.
“It wasn’t anything dangerous, it was quite a strong challenge and maybe the ref has seen it from a different angle, but from where I’m standing, it looked like maybe a yellow.”
