Luton U21s were beaten 2-1 by Portsmouth this afternoon

Luton Town U21s went down 2-1 against Portsmouth in a friendly clash on the south coast this afternoon.

The Hatters fielded three trialists in their starting 11, as they went into the half time break trailing 1-0, Haji Mnoga racing into the area to convert Harry Kavanagh's cross.

Seok Jae Lee's effort was deflected narrowly over, before the second period saw a Hatters defender head against their own post.

Pompey did double their lead on 69 minutes when Ben Close found the net following some neat link-up play involving Alfie Stanley and Mnoga.

Late on, Coree Wilson pulled one back for the Hatters, but it was to prove a consolation.
