Hatters win race to sign prolific Shaw

LUTON Town have finally won the race to sign former Gateshead striker Jon Shaw.

The prolific goalscorer was wanted by a host of clubs but has opted to move to Kenilworth Road, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.

Shaw, 28, netted 35 goals in all competitions last season, including 28 in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

After the news was officially announced, Shaw tweeted: “As a few of you have seen, I’m happy to say I’ve signed for Luton Town and I’m looking forward to a successful promotion season #COYH.”

He becomes manager Paul Buckle’s fourth signing of the summer, after Ronnie Henry, Danny Spiller and Scott Rendell all agreed to move to Kenilworth Road.
