Hatters wouldn’t entertain signing striker Ched Evans

The 26-year-old, who was convicted of rape in April 2012, was released from prison on October 17 after serving two-and-a-half years of a five-year sentence.

All League One and League Two clubs were contacted by the BBC and asked whether they had been contacted by Evans’ representatives about the potential for a trial or to sign the striker, and if they were what the likely response would be.

The Hatters’ response was: “Nobody has contacted us with regard to Ched Evans and we wouldn’t entertain the thought if they did.”
