The Town fell two goals behind inside the first 30 minutes as Montell Moore grabbed both, but kept it tight in the second third to keep the score 2-0.

Youth Team boss Paul Driver, who took charge of the match, made several changes in the final 30 minutes which saw the 11 on the field made-up entirely of youth team players.

The Hatters youngsters did well to ‘win’ the final third of the match 1-0 thanks to striker Tuki Tayali’s goal.

Despite the defeat, Driver was encouraged by the display, particularly of his young players.

“It was a good workout against strong opposition,” he said.

“Essentially we were playing Brentford’s Under-21s and not their youth team so for our boys to do so well, especially in the final 30 minutes, is fantastic.”
