The ex-Hatters star made it 2-0 on eight minutes, firing home a loose ball, after James Chester had put the Tigers ahead early on.

But the Gunners hit back as Santi Cazorla’s superb free-kick made it 2-1, while Laurent Koscielny scrambled in the equaliser after 71 minutes.

With just 11 minutes of extra time remaining though, Aaron Ramsey stepped up to score the winner and end Arsenal’s nine-year wait for a trophy.

Afterwards, Davies tweeted: “I am so PROUD of each and every one of my team mates. What a season! Thanks to each and every one of you that stood by us this year.”
