Henry, who made 87 appearances for the Hatters, captaining them to the Conference title in the 2013-14 campaign, was mightily impressed with the current crop at Kenilworth Road after coming up against them for Stevenage during Saturday’s 0-0 draw.

Speaking afterwards, he said: “I fully expect them to be up there, around the area, getting automatic or into the play-offs.

“They’ve got a very good squad, and a very good management team.

“I went and spoke to John (Still) and Terry (Harris) and Hakan (Hayrettin) as I’ve got a lot of time for them and I wish them well.”

According to Hatters boss John Still, it wasn’t just Henry who was impressed with his side either, as he added: “Talking to Teddy Sheringham afterwards, he was saying ‘your side is strong, very competitive, which is what we’re trying to get our side to be.’”
