Henry said: “He’s a good lad, he’s very lively on and off the pitch. He’s settled in quite well and he does listen, I speak to him all of the time on the pitch and off the pitch and he’s willing to learn and for me to get the ball and give it to someone of that quality that knows what he can do.

“I think it’s shown in the Hitchin game the other night that we worked quite well together and he’s a handful, I wouldn’t like to play against him personally and I’m sure he’s going to be a very good signing for us.”

The 29-year-old was known for his attacking tendencies at Stevenage and is looking to replicate that at Kenilworth Road next season after a hernia curtailed his influence last term.

He added: “I can’t use it as an excuse now, I was limited in what I was doing with my hernias to be honest with you.

“I did get forward a lot at Stevenage and I think it showed the last game I played here against Lincoln I got forward quite a lot and enjoyed it and the other night at Hitchin because I do have quite good energy and do enjoy getting forward.

“So a player like that in front of me, if I can give him the ball, and I can get round him and use my legs, it will be to our advantage and I look forward to it.

“The managers let you play freely, obviously they’ll give you certain tactics they want you to stick to but I’m sure he would like me to get forward and I’m looking forward to it as long as I can do my defensive duties first as clean sheets are a must and then anything on top of that is a bonus.”
