In the meantime, record numbers of football fans have been taking to Football Manager to get their fix. For a bit of fun, we've fired up the popular management sim and sent the game into the future, to have a peek at who the Hatters are predicted to sign over the next two transfer windows.

The veteran left-back has played more games in the EFL than you've had hot dinners, and should be a useful character to have in the dressing room. Determination is his number one attribute.
3. Marcelo Djalo - Lugo - 155k
Now you're talking! Plucked from the Spanish second tier, the Guinean defender really could go one way or the other. He began his career at Real Madrid, and briefly played for Fulham.
4. Shay Facey - Walsall - 190k
A good deal, this. The right-back came through the Manchester City youth academy, and is ready to shine in the third tier after a solid season with the Saddlers.
