HIGHLIGHTS: Hatters 1 Mansfield Town 0

Craig Mackail-Smith thought he had put Hatters in front in sensational fashion with an overhead kick but it was adjudged offside by the linesman.

The striker did net what turned out to be the only goal of the game though when he was felled in the area by Ryan Tafazolli and dusted himself down to convert the penalty on 58 minutes.

Hatters were then indebted to goalkeeper Mark Tyler for a string of excellent saves as they kept a first clean sheet of the campaign too.
