Howells not panicking despite Town’s defeat

Confident Hatters full-back Jake Howells asserted the most important factor is that Luton are still in the mix at the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier despite falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Dartford on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

The Kenilworth Road factor again came to the fore as industrious Dartford put in a tireless performance in the first-ever meeting between the two sides as Luton blew the chance to make up ground at the top after results earlier in the day had gone their way.

Wales U21 international Jake Howells said: “It does in a way make it worse, but we’re in the mix and that’s all the matters.

“There’s a long way left until the end of the season and we’ve got a lot of games to play so we don’t need to start panicking right now.

“As long as we get back to our form I’m sure we will be fine.”
