Town striker Danny Hylton admitted it was one of the easiest decisions he has had to make when agreeing to sign a new contract at Kenilworth Road last week.

The 31-year-old forward might have gone into the summer as a free agent, but was offered a two year deal by the Hatters, and signed it almost instantly.

With 129 games and 58 goals under his belt, Hylton said: “I was really happy, I don’t want to be anywhere else.

"It sounds quite cliched doesn’t it, but I do love Luton Town, I love being there, love the people involved with it, so for me it was an easy decision.

“It took about 30 seconds.

"There was a few conversations, he (Nathan Jones) said to me, ‘despite what league we’re in, he wants me,’ and I’m thankful for the trust he puts in me and the faith that he shows in me.

“I just want to get back to playing, getting a run of games and playing some of my better football.

“I thank the gaffer and the staff for showing faith in me and giving me that two year contract and I just want to look forward.

“There’s all stuff going on outside of football, stuff that I’m not going to even pretend that I fully understand the ins and outs of everything.

"I’m sure there’s some uncertain times with players and clubs, so to get a two year contract, I’m delighted with it and for it to be at Luton Town, a club I want to be at, with fantastic people and fantastic players, staff and fans, everyone, I’m delighted.

“I’ve had a little bit of a difficult time with injury, so it will be nice to get back to playing my best football now.

"Get pre-season under my belt, albeit a shorter pre-season and get back to some of my best football.”
