Keeper Simon Sluga picked up the Player of the Season award at the Luton Town Supporters' Trust presentation night recently after a fine campaign between the posts for the Hatters. He followed a host of Town players to have won the prize since the 1999-2000 season and to find out who all the previous winners were, check out the gallery below.
9. Keith Keane: 2007–08
Breakthrough season for the homegrown midfielder as he played 34 times, scoring once, although Luton ended up relegated from League One and were hit with a 10-point deduction.
10. Keith Keane: 2008–09
Second successive award for the midfielder as he made 49 appearances, but starting on minus 30 points, Luton never realistically had a chance of staying up as they finished bottom of League Two, dropping into the Conference.
11. George Pilkington: 2009–10
Town’s captain was Mr Consistent as he played 51 games scoring six goals, although Luton were unable to make it out of the Conference at the first attempt, beaten in the play-offs by York City.
12. Mark Tyler: 2010–11
Racked up a half century of games for Luton as they once again suffered play-off heartbreak, losing out in the final to AFC Wimbledon on penalties.
