Luton kick off their Premier League campaign this weekend when they head to Brighton & Albion.
With football starting before the introduction of Sky then despite what some might think, it isn’t the first time the Hatters have been in the top flight before.

6. Aug 17, 1974: Luton Town 1 Liverpool 2
After returning to Division One following a 15-year absence, Luton had one of the most difficult starts against a Liverpool side containing Ray Clemence and Kevin Keegan. 7. Aug 28, 1982: Spurs 2 Luton Town 2
Back in the top flight once more, David Pleat’s side travelled to White Hart Lane for the opening fixture and fought back to earn an excellent 2-2 draw against the FA Cup holders. Gary Mabbutt headed home Glen Hoddle’s free kick, as Micky Hazard doubled the lead, before Luton got going, John Lacey putting through his own net and Brian Stein salvaging the draw.
