Luton kick off the eagerly awaited 2021-22 Championship season at home to Peterborough United this weekend.
Nathan Jones will be hunting an opening three points for his side as they look to improve on their 12th placed finish from last term.

5. Aug 7, 2004 - League One: Luton 2 Oldham 1

6. Aug 6, 2005 - Championship: Crystal Palace 1 Luton 2
Back in the second tier, Luton got off to a great start, Steve Howard putting the visitors ahead on the stroke of half time. Andrew Johnson levelled for the Eagles, but Ahmet Brkovic popped up with the winner 11 minutes from time.
7. Aug 5, 2006 - Championship: Luton 2 Leicester 0
Town had another top start to the Championship campaign with Leon Barnett's goal on eight minutes putting them ahead against the Foxes and then Carlos Edwards sealing the win late in the second half.
8. Aug 11, 2007 - League One: Luton 2 Hartlepool 1
Town began their League One campaign with victory over Hartlepool. Darren Currie opened the scoring on 36 minutes, while with six to go, Alan Goodall netted his only ever Luton goal, meaning Riche Barker's late penalty mattered little.
