The Hatters originally made the last 16 back in 1938, as in total, they have won five matches, drawn five and lost eight, scoring 23 goals and conceding 33.

Having seen off Exeter and Huddersfield away, Luton were no match for Wolves at Kenilworth Road, Gordon Turner scoring the only goal for the hosts in front of over 25,000 supporters.
Bob Morton (2, pictured), David Pacey, Billy Bingham and Tony Gregory scored as Luton won at Portman Road. They went on to beat Blackpool and Norwich to reach the final for the first and only time in this history, losing 2-1 to Nottingham Forest.
Having hammered Workington 5-0, Scottish international Mick Cullen scoring twice, and Rotherham United 5-1, Luton came unstuck against City as over 23,000 crammed into Kenilworth Road to see the defeat.
The Hatters had eased into the fifth round, putting six past Blackburn Rovers, Jesse Pye netting a hat-trick and breaching Manchester City five times, but couldn’t defeat the Trotters, falling to a single goal defeat.
