Hatters boss masterminds long overdue victory at Deepdale on Saturday

Luton Town halted a run of almost 50 years without victory at Preston North End on Saturday when they ran out 1-0 winners thanks to home keeper Daniel Iversen's late own goal. Boss Nathan Jones continued his habit of ending such long waits for a victory since taking over for his first spell back in 2016 and to see the 12 best from his two stints in charge, check out the gallery below.

The Hatters had never tasted league success at Field Mill in their history stretching over 80 years and 14 attempts. That was until Nathan Jones took over as Paddy McCourt and Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu sealed a long overdue victory.

Luton hadn't beaten Pompey since 1995, whether it be home or away, the run spanning seven matches and 22 years. It was finally ended when James Collins' close-range finish settled this FA Cup tie on the stroke of half time.
Luton hadn't won at Coventry since Brian Stein scored on New Year's Day in 1987. Seven defeats from eight followed in the next 31 years, but then Matty Pearson and James Collins scored to send the Hatters home victorious.
The Hatters hadn't won at the Madejski Stadium since August 1999 as after almost 25 years and six straight defeats later, Jordan Clark's first half header saw them finally triumph once more, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 triumph.
James Collins scored in the second half as Luton ended a wait of almost 25 years for a success at the Millers, with Tony Thorpe’s hat-trick in April 1997 the last time they had managed to take home the points.
Town had gone six matches and almost 40 years without winning at St Andrew’s, claiming just two draws in that time since Mick Harford’s double sealed a 2-0 Division One victory. Dan Potts’ close range header changed that.
The Hatters headed to the City Ground without a victory in 12 games, since March 12, 1983 when Ricky Hill’s goal was enough for a 1-0 Division One success. Ryan Tunnicliffe then struck as Luton put that sequence to bed.
