Luton Town re-signed former loanee Matt Macey from Hibernian during the transfer window, following a brief spell at Kenilworth Road when borrowed from Arsenal in 2017.

. Starting out
As a youngster, Macey, born in Bath, was initially rejected from the Bristol Rovers' Centre of Excellence, but after being invited to train with Cardiff, had spells with the youth teams at Bath City and Yate Town, before joining the Pirates in 2009, becoming a full-time scholar in 2011. . Youth team success
Was in the Rovers first team squad for their League Two fixture at Torquay United in March 2012, and a member of the U18s double winning team, along with Town defender Tom Lockyer. . Arsenal-bound
Following a successful trial, signed for Arsenal in October 2013, the Gunners winning the race ahead of Everton and a number of other clubs, paying around £100,000 compensation to Rovers for his services. Photo: David Price
. Accrington loan and pro debut
in January 2015, Macey signed for League Two club Accrington Stanley on a one-month loan. Made his Football League debut in a 3-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers, going on to play four times for the club. Photo: Pete Norton
. First Hatters spell
Signed on loan for Luton in January 2017 and after winning his place from Stuart Moore, made his debut in the Checkatrade Trophy 5-2 win over Yeovil. Picked up a first clean sheet as a pro in the 3-0 League Two win against Hartlepool. going on to make 13 appearances, with four shut-outs. 9. Miserable return to Kenilworth Road
Didn't have an enjoyable outing when he was back in Bedfordshire, as Luton ran out 5-1 winners over Plymouth, James Collins scoring a treble. 10. Understudying at the Emirates
Back with Arsenal again, he made three appearances for the U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy during the 2019-20 season, featuring in draws with Northampton and Cambridge, plus a defeat to Peterborough. Photo: David Price
11. FA Cup winner
Macey picked up an FA Cup winners medal in August 2020 after being on the bench for Arsenal when they defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Photo: CATHERINE IVILL
12. Venturing north of the border
After playing one more Checkatrade Trophy game for the Gunners, Macey left the Emirates in January 2021 after almost eight years in north London. Signed for Scottish Premier League side Hibernian for an undisclosed fee and made his debut in the 1-1 draw against Celtic. Photo: Ian MacNicol
