Luton boss Nathan Jones believes new signing Kal Naismith can 'tick a lot of boxes' after agreeing to move to Kenilworth Road this evening.

The 28-year-old is expected to add competition with Dan Potts for the left back berth after Rhys Norrington-Davies was recalled by Sheffield United on Tuesday and then sent to Stoke City.

However, he could also fill in a number of other roles, as Jones told the club's official website: “Kal is a real good fit for us.

"He’s played against us many times over the years and he’s one that we tried to get in the summer. It wasn’t possible then, but we are delighted to get him in now.

“Position wise, we’ve brought him in as a left sided player but we know that he is so versatile.

"He’s played left wing, wide right, up front, left-back, left centre-half – so he gives us real options and ticks a lot of boxes with his experience and character.

“We signed a lot of younger players in the close season that we will develop and make better.

"Kal is a real good age, one that we believe is Championship-ready, and you have to have a blend of both.”
