Hatters boss Nathan Jones admits he faces a real conundrum over his selection for the weekend’s absolutely massive Championship trip to fellow strugglers Hull City.

The Luton chief has kept faith with the same side for the last two games, a 2-0 victory at Huddersfield last Friday and then the 1-1 draw with QPR on Tuesday night.

However, on whether he would need to freshen things up at the KCOM Stadium to give Town the best chance of winning after such a punishing schedule, Jones said: “It’s a real conundrum I’ve got to be honest.

“If you do and don’t get a result and if you don’t then you don’t get a result... it’s all about the result really.

“We;ll have a think about it, we’ve got a group that are ready, they’ve done a second day recovery so they haven’t done massive amounts today.

"With what’s at stake, I don’t think tiredness will creep in at this stage.

“The Reading game we put that down to the emotion that it took to go and win away at Swansea and then to go and get that result at Leeds which was a huge result, it really, really was.

“The emotional side, not just the physical side, took it out of them and then to go again for Reading, where you kind of relax a little bit which is human nature, that cost us.

"They haven’t shown that complacency since and I’m sure we won’t see that again.”

Jones confirmed that midfielders Glen Rea (thigh) and Izzy Brown (Achilles) are still rated as doubtful for the clash, saying: “They’re both closer to being available than they were on Tuesday night so we will just have to see.

“Glen was a real precaution really, we gave him a little bit more time.

“We probably could have pushed him back for Tuesday so we will see. At the minute, we’ve not made any selections yet.”

Rea had been in excellent form since returning from the serious knee injury that saw him miss the first half of the campaign, with Luton lacking a real holding midfielder in his absence.

Jones added: “He will always be a miss, you always want him available.

“Our midfield has been very good, we probably missed him in the Reading game because we conceded a few but since then, we’ve only lost one in seven since we’ve come back.

"We’ve been in decent form, but you want all of your good players available and Glen is a wonderful player for us and someone we trust.”
