Luton boss Nathan Jones has no immediate plans to recall full back Peter Kioso from his successful loan spell at League Two Bolton Wanderers.

The 21-year-old has proved a real hit since moving to the Trotters back in October, scoring three goals in 14 appearances, helping the side to five wins, although was sent off in the 3-3 draw with Carlisle United recently.

Wanderers boss Ian Evatt is desperate to keep the former Dunstable and Hartlepool defender at the University of Bolton Stadium, as although Luton did have a recall clause inserted, it’s not something Jones intends to activate unless he believes Kioso will impact on the first team at Kenilworth Road.

The manager said: “What Peter went out for was so that when he comes back into the building, he’ll be closer to the first team.

“We fully expect him to play first-team games for Luton, it’s how he gets there.

“Now loans are part and parcel, so either we keep him in the environment and he develops here or he goes out and gets games – we felt that was needed.

“He has gone to a good place, with a good manager, with a good environment, so we’re very happy with that.

“The only reason we would shorten that loan is if he’s going to come into our team.

"We’re very happy with Peter and very happy with his progression and the place he’s at.”
