Both Scotland and Ireland saw their international camps hit with members having to self isolate, while League Two sides Grimsby Town and Leyton Orient had to call matches off recently after declaring a positive test.

With extra local restrictions in place, meaning England has gone into a three tiered system of medium, high and very high, Jones confirmed that regular checks of Town's squad were being made at Kenilworth Road to ensure the players were safe.

He said: "We have our own machine, so we’re testing in-house.

"I’m not a politician, but if cases are spreading it's probably because more people are getting tested, I don’t want to play down this pandemic but you just have to be sensible.

“You hear of a party and if you go to a party and you’re mixing with 30 people you don’t know, that heightens the risk of you catching anything.

"So we’re being sensible and that’s what we’re asking the players to do, be sensible.

"We test them regularly, test anyone who steps up from 23s into us, we test them on the morning, so that we get the results.

"We've tested our players today (Thursday), so we're in a decent place, but people have to be sensible.

"I’m not panicking about coronavirus, just trying to be diligent and my family is doing exactly the same."
