Pilkington hoping for a final appearance

TOWN goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington is hoping he will finally get to experience Wembley if the Hatters can reach the final of the FA Trophy this season, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 36-year-old has never played at the home of football during his 18-year career, although did come close as a fresh-faced youngster for first club Manchester United.

Hatters moved a step closer by beating Gloucester City 1-0 on Friday evening, and meet the winners of last night’s clash between Eastbourne Borough and Guiseley in the quarter-finals.

Pilkington said: “It would be nice to be there at this stage of my career, it would be lovely.”
