Kovacs hails Town record-breakers

RECORD-BREAKING Luton kept a 10th successive home clean sheet during their 2-0 win over Bath City at the weekend to set a new club high, much to the delight of centre-half Janos Kovacs, writes Mark Wood.

The 26-year-old Hungarian was a key performer at both ends as he set Town on their way with his first-half header, but it was the shut out that he was most enthusiastic about.

He said: “Of course I’m happy, but to be fair my first job is to keep a clean sheet and that’s why I’m a little bit more happy for the team, for my team-mates as well and of course at the end for myself that we kept another clean sheet.

“It’s a good stat (10 straight clean sheets) because everything starts with that.”
