The Dons forward has netted 13 goals this season and is a cult hero for the Dons with his no-nonsense, physical style.

Lacey said: “I watched him at Luton earlier in the season and he’s a big, strong guy. I’m relishing the challenge to play against him.

“He’s big and strong, we’ve all seen pictures of him and he’s pretty massive so I’ll look forward to going up against him.”

Despite Akinfenwa taking on the mantle of AFC’s main striker with Matt Tubbs moving to Portsmouth, boss John Still wasn’t going alter his planning for one player.

He said: “We know what he’s capable of, know his strengths and know what he likes to do.

“Our defenders will be fully aware of that, but he’s one player.

“We look after Akinfenwa and his mate over the road scores three.

“We’ll look at his strengths and weaknesses as we do with all players and we work as hard as we can on our strengths, and to try and nullify our weaknesses, but there’s no special preparation for him.”
