The 29-year-old was one of six players transfer listed by the club on Friday, despite having another year left on his contract.

After Fraser Franks tweeted he had played his last game for Town, Lafayette wrote: “Thanks to all at Luton FC who have supported me during my year here. Meant a lot to me.

“Delighted to play for such a massive club and loyal support. Looking forward to the next chapter and showing what I can do!”

Lafayette joined Luton on a free transfer from Welling United in the summer, but made just 14 appearances for the Hatters, failing to score and was loaned to Woking, before spending the final part of the season back with former club Welling.

The forward joins Franks, Matt Robinson, Alex Lacey, Curtley Williams and Andy Parry in being put up for sale by manager John Still.
