Lawless eager to forget injury woe

MIDFIELDER Alex Lawless wants to put his recent injury problems firmly behind him after making his return to the Town side at the weekend, writes Mike Simmonds.

The former York player broke his hand punching a wall in the dressing room at Bootham Crescent and was forced to miss the last eight games.

He was back on the pitch against Fleetwood Town, albeit with some protective strapping, and when asked about the incident, Lawless said: “Nine times out of 10 I probably wouldn’t do that. I just want to get it out the way, forget about it and learn from it.

“It has been a long time, six weeks and I’m itching to play. I was really, really looking forward to it, just putting all that hand injury out the window.”
