The 29-year-old was involved for the first time since October 25 when he played the first half of Luton’s Development League Cup clash with Brighton on Monday afternoon.

When asked if he felt ready for a first team recall, Lawless said: “I’ve been in training for a week now and had 45 minutes, so I’d love to be involved in the squad.

“But we’ve got a big squad, a competitive squad, so I’m just going to go with the flow at this point.

“I’m just happy to be back training and playing, so we’ll see what happens.”

Although Plymouth have an impressive record at Home Park this season, they lost 2-1 against Oxford during their last game, and are winless in their past four matches.

Lawless was confident about Luton’s chances of gaining a result though as the side aim for back to back titles and also gave his thoughts on Town strengthening their squad during the transfer window.
